22 Sep Team Diagnosis
Diagnosis is an important stage allowing the leader and team to collect valuable information regarding:
- Relation between team leader and the team
- Relationships between the team members
- Relationships between the team and its stakeholders (other colleagues, customers, other departments, suppliers, etc.)
- How the team’s performance is translated to its stakeholders
- How the team members (individually) are contributing to the team’s collective performance
- How the team is applying collective leadership
A team can’t be successful as long as it remains isolated and not connected to the stakeholders.
The involvement of the stakeholders in teams related development programs, meetings, feedback, creates transparency, increases trust, and brings new opportunities for business development and growth. All this means increasing team performance.
Preparation and dialogue with the Team Leader are key steps before running in such a phase.
Before starting the diagnosis phase, we will set up together the frame of working defining what means psychological safety.
Within the diagnosis phase together (you as a team and myself) will customize the instruments proposed such as: interviews, surveys, 360 feedback for teams and so on. In the same spirit I will accompany you as a team on the way of identifying your stakeholders who can provide relevant feedback. The team as well as the stakeholders will participate in interviews, surveys, or other types of instruments we will decide to use.
As a result of applying the instruments there will be a final report, prepared by myself and presented to you as a team.
After the Diagnosis phase it is up to you as a team to decide which are the next steps and how you would like to maximize this valuable information within the context of your business.
Budget is an important condition to move forward and therefore planning can be structured in phases and time intervals so that even small steps can be achieved.
Smaller steps are preparing, most of the time, a big jump!
You need to make the first one…and then the rest will be added.
Looking forward to working with you!
