Group Supervision

Group Supervision

Group supervision is a rich and valuable experience which I personally recommend not only to coaches/supervisors/mentors but also to leaders, managers and coordinators, people working and leading people.

You can learn and develop yourself for serving better your people and stakeholders.

In Group Supervision, contracting as well as checking-in at the beginning of the session are important for creating a safe, confidential space and to allow the participants to share their needs and how they arrive (emotions, feelings, facts).

That’s why:

  1. Listening to each other with respect
  2. Talking from self-perspective
  3. Respecting confidentiality
  4. Sharing and exchanging feelings, thoughts as long as feeling safe
  5. Assuming personal contribution and responsibility
  6. Being respectfully
  7. Being patient, honest and empathic

Are behaviors shared by all participants of the group over the entire session.

The Supervisor is coordinating the group allowing to all voices to be heard, while people show their intention of having an intervention such as: asking clarifying questions or sharing/exchanging feelings, thoughts verbally.

Talking from self-perspective means to share what you are noticing about yourself while listening to the conversion. You may recognize diverse thoughts, judgements, feelings, fictions, tendency of giving advice, and so on.

There is nothing wrong! This is still you, in a certain context, facing something and noticing diverse reactions.

Listening to a bunch of diverse perspectives coming from the participants as a responsive approach to what they are witnessing, the supervisee may discover insights, answers or may have awesome, emotional breakthroughs or may take further on, time for reflection.

As a Supervisee you are taking what you need from the session, and as a Participant the same.

You may also leave with new reflective questions which need time to be answered.

I left always with satisfaction, reflecting, discovering, enjoying, grateful for what I received.
